Jeep Clubs

With the growing popularity of Jeeps it wasn't long until Jeep Clubs started forming across the USA. One noteworthy Jeep club is the Jolly Jeepers which was founded in 1962 in Oregon. Around the same time, Erle Stanley Gardner joined up with the Sareea Al Jamel 4-Wheel Drive Club in California to describe the growing popularity of off-roading in his book "The Dessert is Yours". Back in the early to late 1960's a lot of Jeep's under went custom modifications which included dropping in a V8 or a 6 cylinder engine from other manufacturers.
