CJ3

The CJ3A went into production in 1948 and lasted until 1953. The CJ3A had a strengthened transmission and transfer case and a one piece windshield. In 1958 the CJ3B was brought to life with a slightly different body because of a higher hood line. This change was made because Willys had a new engine, the Hurricane F-head. The engine was still a 134 cubic inches, but produced more horsepower. The CJ3B stayed in production through the 1960's with a production of 155,494 models built.

Due to its popularity, CJ3A model had licensing agreements in many factories worldwide including, Europe, India and Japan. Kaiser-Frazer and Willys Overland merged in 1953 and the company's name changed to Kaiser Jeep.
